Gaza: US contractors to provide protection for Palestinian aid trucks. What could possibly go wrong? Colombia’s new guerrilla war. If one likes guerrilla warfare, one would love Colombia. They have been fighting ‘leftist’ guerrilla groups since the late 1950s. And Colombians seem to enjoy winning these wars only to not address their problems and a new group emerges. Colombia’s political classes are ‘left.’ Some might be more left than others, but the whole country seems to be a lot of ‘leftists’ shooting at each other.

What we are looking at in Columbis is bestcase scenario for Progressive rule.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio threatened the heads of the Taliban with a “very big bounty” after hearing that more American hostages are being held by the group.

“Just hearing the Taliban is holding more American hostages than has been reported,” the secretary wrote on X.“If this is true, we will have to immediately place a VERY BIG bounty on their top leaders, maybe even bigger than the one we had on Bin Laden,” he threatened.’

Almost immediately after the prisoner exchange for Americans Ryan Corbett and William McKenty, news broke that more Americans were being held that weren’t previously known about.

President Donald Trump’s recent executive order on the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Council on Environmental Quality is a step in the right direction with respect to permitting and economic development. Why are we not killing NEPA legislatively. We cannot rely on Executive Orders to safeguard our economy. We have to protect our economy just as certainly as we need to recognize our need to live with the earth. Where is the push to move Congress to action?

Speaking to the WEF, Trump publicly criticized Bank of America CEO Brian Moynihan, accusing the bank of “debanking” conservative customers. Trump addressed Moynihan directly, alleging the financial institution closed accounts of conservatives.

There is a bifurcation in business. There are some businesses like Disney which are nearly exclusively for Progressives. There are starting to be places like Pubic Square, Patriot Mobile and Coign catering to traditional American principles and values.

We need to, in view of how ESG has been used to politically weaponize the economy, make sure we identify our friends and reward them with our patronage. Conversely, we need to punish bad actors by avoiding their products and services.

Financial strength is of paramount importance. That's why our national debt is so very important.

There was a fatality related to a border incident in the Swanton sector of th US_Canadian border this week. A border agent was shot and killed in Coventry Vermont. The people involved seem to have been a female from greater Seattle and a German. There is scant, reliable information. Vermont is a sanctuary state. Do states adjacent to sanctuaries have legal recourse against sanctuary jurisdictions for the damage, theft, personal injury and cost to apprehend, house and feed the criminals given safe harbor by sanctuaries. Why do we have to tolerate the bad behavior of sanctuaries?

The White House terminated the inspectors general of 17 governmental departments and agencies. Notifications was sent via email by the White House Personnel Director. The dismissals, effective immediately, impacted key agencies, including: Departments of Defense, Energy, Housing and Urban Development, Interior, State, Transportation and Veterans Affairs.

Under the Inspector General Act of 1978, the president is required to notify Congress 30 days prior to removing an inspector general. As far as I can tell the congressional notice requirement was not respected. Issues, comments or concerns? Will Congress sign off?

Definitely a questionable move, especially when one was a Trump appointee during 45 who has been criticized by democrats for his partisanship. Could this be Trump testing the waters to see just how far he can go? Certainly seems like he is picking a fight that he may not win, at least for 30 days.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1857068353484910999 Antony Blinken on the State Department releasing money before Trump's in office. The Rubio move may be as much to set Progressives up for dismissal for failure to work as directed as it is a money saving move. Just so you understand where my question comes from.

John Ratcliffe, is he a fox in the Trump hen house or is he the right guy, in the right place, at the right time... There are stories going both ways... What say you?

How much impact will the Rubio suspension of foreign aid payments have. Isn't it reasonable to expect the Progressives got as much money out the door as possible in the last 2 months? It seems like simply impounding foreign aid until the national debt is paid off is a pretty good move regardless who does not like it. That's self preservation at work. What the Wright position on this one?

Ratcliffe served as Trump's DNI late in the 45 administration so Trump knows Ratcliffe. I have never heard anything from Ratcliffe to indicate he was not MAGA. When he was in the House I saw several of his committee appearances and his questioning of witnesses always was on target and of a conservative bent. I do not believe John Ratcliffe is a squish.

What have you heard from the other direction?

Bryan, as another poster mentioned, classified documents related to the JFK, RFK, and MLK investigations are set to be released after 60 years. Could this delay be a symptom of the federal government’s tendency to over-classify documents? I suspect that classifying information unnecessarily not only fosters lax habits but also makes enforcement more challenging. Is over-classification as significant an issue as it seems? If so, what steps could be taken to address it?

Trump signed a bunch of executive orders on the border, repealing Biden's drilling bans and all the rest of it. Soon he will swing into action negotiating an end to the war in Ukraine. There was a story in the Wall Street Journal the other day that is on point. https://www.wsj.com/world/rissia-taps-soviet-era-stockpiles-as-armored-vehicle-supplies-dwindle

The story reports Russia is tapping Soviet era stockpiles as their armored vehicle supply diminishes. The Russians are using movie prop tanks and armored vehicles in Ukraine. That’s not a statement of strength. It is emblematic of how their defense industrial base has atrophied. They are churning through troops by the hundreds of thousands.

When Trump negotiates with Putin, he needs to know the actual position of his adversary. Putin's not a man with a strong hand. He's a man with a weak hand masking a lot of flaws. The Biden administration and its media was too taken with the woke bull sh*t to separate facts form fiction.

So sir, the question becomes. How should Trump approach Putin. Is an immediate fix in America's best long term interest? Why or why not?

Hegseth squeaked by. It’s time for Murkowski and Collins to be primaried whenever their terms are up.

Need Alaska to dump that Rank Choice Voting.

"In a traditional, one-and-done election (or even one where a runoff is required when no candidate wins 50%-plus-one of the vote), Ms. Tshibaka would appear to be poised to end Ms. Murkowski’s 20-year senatorial career. But the incumbent is obviously counting on Ms. Chesbro’s voters — i.e., Democrats — dragging her across the finish line in the second round of counting after the Democrat is eliminated in the first tally."

That is how Murkowski won her last election against solid conservative Kelly Tshibaka. Tshibaka won the GOP primary but failed to get 50% in the general where Murkowski ran as a write-in. The democrat was dropped giving Murkowski the win as she was listed second on those ballots. Screwy system that Nevada dumped.

Maine is fairly liberal; Angus King is the other Senator, so a squish RINO may be the best way to keep that Senate seat. But it may be worth primarying her since her predecessor, William Cohen a Republican served 3 Senate terms. Cohen then was named SecDef under Clinton '97-'01 when politics was a bit less divisive.

Murkowski voted to confirm 19 Biden Cabinet picks in defiance of GOP. It would be worth it to pay Scott Pressler‘s to disrupt the Alaska voting system and pressure the legislator to change it by law. Rykowski is just a flipping Democrat.

Scott Pressler will do well to keep his eyes on PA. He may have had more effect that Musk did there.

If Alaska does not dump rank choice voting they will continue to get RINOs or democrats representing them.

Pete Hegseth is now the SecDef. The 3 forever RINOs, Collins, Murkowski & McConnell voted No on confirming Hegseth resulting in a 50-50 split to which VP JD Vance broke the tie giving Trump his SecDef selection a 51-50 confirmation.

I was hoping Sen Fetterman out of PA would show some spine in going against his party as Fetterman said he had a good conversation with Hegseth. I guess Schmuck used a little black mail in the way of committee assignments to keep Fetterman on the plantation.

Kristi Noem for DHS is up now and I hope Sen Thune forces that one early next week. Need to get moving on Patel and Bondi.

Isn't it interesting, the confirmation of exactly how Progressive McConnell is? It pretty much answers the question: Why do Republicans keep losing to the Democrats? Both parties are led by PROGRESSIVES. That's why Progressives have been winning and conservatives have been drooling. Have we had enough? Are we ready to admit our addiction and get clean?

First of all, way to tease the stories for next week. Really got my attention. Secondly, I can't stress how important it is to tell the whole story. I wrote a comment yesterday or the day before about how other news outlets seemed to leave out parts of a story. The Wright Report seemed to tell the whole story or at least more information. As a paid subscriber I can't stress agin how important this is. I'm what some would call a christian, conservative, "patriot". But we need to hold our "side" to account. I want the whole story even if it makes our "side" look bad. They need to be held to account. They have to prove they are working dor us and deserving of our support. I am trusting you, Bryan, to give the whole story. I pay money and I know you appreciate that but I am giving you something more important, trust. Tell the whole story. I know you have already promised to do that. I remember the day you did. Tell the whole story no matter the cost. Those of us who support you will continue to do so. If others can't handle it, you font need them. I can't help but hope there are more American who want the whole truth and they will be drawn to it. Thank you for what you do. God Bless you and God Bless "Merica!"

Bryan, do you agree with Trump’s authorization of the removal of the State Department security detail for Mike Pompeo (and others) who are targets of Iran in retaliation for our elimination of Soleimani in 2020? I firmly believe this is not only petty but more so it is a very unwise move with regard to US interests/security.

There’s a good argument to be made that if a person took an action on behalf of / at the direction of a president, they deserve protection if there’s blowback. It stands to reason.

If they engaged in unethical or unlawful behavior during or since their service of their own volition, that makes it much more tricky. Discernment is key.

I don’t know what bucket that Mr. Pompeo falls into.

My two cents: I think there’s actually a stronger case to deny protection of former presidents, especially as those men can afford it. It’s hard to think about these former “leaders" getting protected when they degraded the country’s standing (and, in Biden’s case, it was willful).

Just caught this reminder about pulling security details:

"August 2023, the Biden Administration canceled security protection for Trump’s former National Security Adviser Robert O'Brien, who at that time was facing credible and continuing death threats from Iran for his role in the strike on Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Various Congressmen begged Biden to reconsider, but O’Brien never got his security back."

Should something happen to Pompeo that can be tied back to Iran, who was the nation that threatened him, stand by for more Solemanis!

Since Pompeo is no longer a threat to Iran in the CIA or StateDept, I doubt they would waste an asset to do him harm.

The threat is from Islam as opposed to Iran. Think Salmon Rushdie... Are you still as sanguine about threat level?

It was tIran’s Ayatollah Khomeni that issued he fatwa on Rushdie for his book. Iran is the funding source of most terrorism. I am aware that Bin Laden and the 19 hijackers were not Iranian. Still Iran is the main antagonist for terror.
